PHASE 1 starting April 1, 2024: Ward Road will close from immediately north of Alexander Creek Drive to immediately south of Chateau Place for approximately four months. This first phase of construction will be the longest of three construction phases due to the replacement of the bridge over Alexander Creek.
Residents of Alexander Creek will use the detour route of 58 Highway to Prairie Lane or 58 Highway to MO 291 if you want to travel North. If residents want to drive into Raymore just use the usual Ward Road to 58 Highway.
Residents of Chateau Place and Ward Park Place will use the detour route of 163rd Street to Prairie Lane.
The second phase of construction will complete the remaining north section of the roadway and the final phase will complete the south section.

Good afternoon,
Construction on the Ward Road project will begin April 1. The first phase of the project will be the complete reconstruction of the street between Ward Park Place/Chateau Place and Alexander Creek. Local access will be maintained throughout the project, however portions of the street will be closed to through traffic throughout the duration of the construction, which is contracted for about 8 months or so.
The detour route will be Prairie Lane to 163rd Street and we should have the detour maps from traffic control by the end of this week.
I am mailing letters to every address within your community, as well as every address along Ward Road that will provide more information about the project, but I wanted to see if you'd like a representative or two from the City to come out to your neighborhood to answer resident questions in person at any point next week?

It's happening! City Council approved awards of contract for two major infrastructure projects at Monday's meeting: Ward Road Construction and reconstruction of trails at Recreation Park and Memorial Park. Press release: https://bit.ly/43idnAW
VF Anderson Builders will completely reconstruct Ward Road between 163rd Street and 58 Highway, adding curbs, gutters, stormwater improvements, a new bridge, street lights, a multi-use concrete pathway along the east side of the roadway and a sidewalk connection between the neighborhoods of Alexander Creek, Chateau Place and Ward Park Place.
The long-awaited Ward Road Construction project is anticipated to begin in early April. The City of Raymore will provide detailed information about construction phases, detours and road closures the week of March 18 after a pre-construction meeting with the contractor and throughout the 9-month construction process at www.raymore.com/wardroad
The $5.7 million construction project was approved by voters in 2020, as part of the No Tax Increase General Obligation Bond Issues.
